Research Experience / Shadowing

ICMR - Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC)

August 2025 – Present
  • Currently working on the synthesis, optimization and clinical validation of a Rapid AMR Diagnostic Kit (www.neev.bio)
  • Coordinating multi-institutional partnerships with SCB Medical College and ILS Bhubaneswar for ethical approvals and patient sample acquisition.
  • Under the mentorship of Dr. Mahesh to transition the kit from lab prototype to clinical application.

University College London, London, UK

Apr 2025 – July 2025 (On-site)

Student Research Intern, Dept. of Structural & Molecular Biology (SMB)

  • Assisted in the computational modelling of protein structures and dynamics, utilizing tools such as AlphaFold, PyMOL, or Chimera to interpret structural data.
  • Performed bioinformatic analysis on large datasets (e.g., genomic sequencing or proteomics data) to identify novel gene regulatory networks or metabolic pathways.
  • Applied statistical models to analyze experimental results, ensuring robust data validation and reproducibility in research findings.
  • Developing a database for Human Gut Microbiome named Microbe360. (But had to stop that project for funding issues)

University of Sheffield, Sheffield, UK

Nov 2024 – March 2025 (On-site)

Student Research Intern, Dept. of Computational Biology

  • Utilized Python (Bio Python, Pandas) and Molecular Dynamics simulations to model complex protein-ligand interactions.
  • Analysed high-throughput biological datasets to identify conserved structural patterns, contributing to the optimization of drug discovery algorithms.
  • Collaborated with principal investigators to refine computational pipelines for genomic sequence alignment.

Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Cancer Institute

Cuttack, Odisha | March 2023 – September 2023

Research Intern

  • Applied Machine Learning (ML) and AI algorithms to large biological datasets for cancer diagnosis, alongside molecular docking studies.
  • Conducted research on multiple cancer cell lines, including MCF-7, A549, and HCT116, bridging computational models with biological data.
  • Engaged in translational research by shadowing oncologists and interacting with patients to understand the impact of lifestyle and diet on cancer progression.
  • Worked under the guidance of Dr. Snigdha R Choudhury.

Ravenshaw University

Cuttack, Odisha | July 2021 – Jan 2023

Research Intern

  • Successfully extracted and purified bioactive bacterial pigments - Prodigiosin (Serratia marcescens) and Violacein (Chromobacterium violaceum) for pharmaceutical analysis.
  • Gained hands-on experience in analytical chemistry techniques, including Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), and GC-MS.
  • Worked under the guidance of Dr. D.P. Barik & Dr. Alok Panda.

Research Projects

A Mesoscopic Zero-Density Hypothesis for the Riemann Zeta Function

March 2025 - Continuing
  • Formulated the MDH to interpolate between global zero-density estimates and microscopic pair-correlation phenomena, focusing on vertical windows [T, T+H] with H = T^ε.
  • Established Lindelöf-type bounds in mean and discussed heuristic support from Random Matrix Theory (GUE).
  • Proposed rigorous computational tests capable of falsifying the hypothesis below current theoretical ranges.

Refinements of Jensen's Inequality for Convex Functions

Oct 2025 - Jan 2026
  • Authored "Refinements of Jensen's Inequality for Twice-Differentiable Convex Functions with Bounded Hessian."
  • Derived tighter error estimates for Jensen's inequality, improving precision in mathematical analysis and convex optimization.
  • Preprint: arXiv:2601.05030 [math.FA]

GiGa Complex: Crop Protection via Natural Extracts

May 2023 - April 2024
  • Developed a sustainable biopesticide using Allicin (garlic) and Diallyl trisulfide (ginger) to mitigate locust infestations.
  • Validated the mechanism as a potent acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor, inducing neuroexcitation in locusts to prevent crop damage without environmental toxicity.

BCDS: Early Detection of Urinary Bladder Cancer

March 2021 – Aug 2023
  • Characterized the bladder microbiome using 16S rRNA sequencing, revealing microbial dysbiosis in cancer patients.
  • Identified Fusobacterium nucleatum as a potential non-invasive biomarker, observing specific elevation in phyla Firmicutes and Proteobacteria.
